报告摘要:

A host of diverse phenomena, such as ecological systems, population dynamics, chemical reactions, super-conductivity, quantum dynamics and fluid dynamics, can be modelled by interacting particle systems. A principal theme in investigating these phenomena is to connect the microscopic mechanisms of the systems with the collective behaviors that emerge in the macroscopic scale under suitable space-time scaling. The mathematical theory for the connections is through the hydrodynamic limits (described by PDEs) and the fluctuation limits (described by stochastic PDEs). In this talk, I will present a brief survey and ilustrate these fascinating connections through two concrete models: heat propagations in Euclidean space as well as in rooms, and the transports of positive and negative charges in solar cells.

报告人简介:

陈振庆,美国华盛顿大学(西雅图)数学系教授,1992年在美国华盛顿大学(圣路易斯)获博士学位,曾在美国的加利福尼亚大学(圣地亚哥)和康奈尔大学工作;1998年起在位于华盛顿州西雅图市的华盛顿大学数学系工作至今。

主要从事概率论及随机过程的研究,主要研究方向是:随机分析、随机微分方程、马氏过程及其位势理论、狄氏型,发表论文180余篇。陈教授曾入选国家人才计划专家,是国际著名杂志Potential Analysis的主编。
