报告摘要：

We give a new approach to compute irreducible characters of the general linear group over the finite field. The vertex algebraic method enhanced Green's theory and we realized the Hall algebra using two Fock spaces corresponding to extensions of Galois fields and their duals. As a result, a general formula of character values is obtained.

报告人简介：

景乃桓，美国北卡州立大学终身教授，德国洪堡学者，美国富尔布莱特学者。作为客座教授多次访问美国伯克利数学研究所、德国波恩马普数学研究所、德国莱比锡马普应用数学所、京都大学数理研究所等著名数学中心。主要从事量子群、顶点代数、无限维李代数、代数组合和量子信息等方面的研究，在对称函数方面的研究成果被国际上命名为“景氏算子”。主持过多项美国NSF基金、NSA基金、Simons Foundation基金，以及国家自然科学基金重点项目、面上项目等。在Invent. Math.、PNAS、Duke Math.J.、Adv.Math.、Comm. Math. Phys.、Trans. AMS等国际重要期刊发表多篇论文。
